East Meets West Alpaca Auction features a benefit herdsire services auction that has raised substantial funds for important alpaca related programs. Proceeds from this year's benefit will go to The Quechua Benefit and to help fund a new camelid reference book by Dr. Ahmed Tibary.
East Meets West Consignors are offering the services of several fine studs to help fund a new reference book on camelid health by the highly respected camelid veterinarian, Dr. Tibary, entitled
Camelid Reproductive Medicine and Herd Health®
(Alpaca Theriogenology)®
The aim of the book is to provide the most complete and up-to-date information on alpaca reproduction and herd health. It is anticipated to be about 400 pages in length and contain over 400 images illustrating anatomical diagrams, diseases, ultrasound and surgical techniques. It will be a reference book for breeders, veterinarians and veterinary students. All proceeds from the book will go toward research and development of the camelid theriogenology teaching and research program at Washington State University.
